FOUR SAMPLE PHOTO GALLERIES: ACTION | LANDSCAPE | LIFESTYLE | EVENTS
Matthew Murray started capturing imagery with a camera at a very young age, to the point where his father took notice and purchased Matthew, his first Canon SLR at Lechmere’s (a great east coast electronics store that no longer exists) at the age of 15.
From there Matthew took to the streets shooting everything in his view from travel to sport to lifestyle moments, which led to the next big influence of his photography career path, the support of his high school art teacher.
In Matthew’s junior and senior years he was given permission to build a darkroom out of the clay closet if he purchased all the chemicals and materials. He slowly taught himself black & white photography, the process of shooting and developing in different formatted films and prints. Upon his departure, Matthew helped turn photography into an art elective course for all future students at his high school.
This lead to Matthew majoring in photography and design at James Madison University, where he assisted one of his more progressive professors in developing the first digital photography course during his senior year – which back in 1999 was placing your developed slides into an archaic scanning device to then edit / develop one's images in PhotoShop 3.3.
Now twelve years post lieu of his bachelor’s degree Matthew has been shooting for brands, agencies, athletes, celebrities, models and media outlets. His experience ranges to the many approaches, techniques and facets of photography, but one staple for him is shooting 95% of the time in the digital format with his Canon and Profoto set-up.
